boots with a skirt!

I've never really worn boots with a skirt before, but I've always thought it looked great when other women did it... So, I tried it out today and I really liked it! I think the boots look good with a "heavy" skirt, like this tweed.

date night

My husband and I had a casual date night the other night... I really liked this outfit. I think it looked better in person than in the picture - I ran into a friend from high school (I graduated 11 years ago!) and she went on and on about how great I looked! What a nice little boost! I really love these boots, I'll proably be wearing them a lot the rest of the winter. Its really hard for me to find boots that will fit over my freakishly huge muscled calves. Seriously - about 90% of boots I try on do not fit.

purple

I really like purple, and I love courderoy jackets... so this outfit was very fun for me!

more shoes!

Theses shoes are the best find I've had in a long time at a thrift store - maybe the best find ever! I got these for $1!!! They're made in France and they are the softest leather I've ever felt...

whoops!

Well, over the holidays I neglected my poor little blog... But I've got a bunch to update tonight!

These are some boots I found thrifting. My hubby loves pointy shoes, and I'm trying to find more because they help lengthen the leg visually. I have very stumpy legs that could benefit from some lengthening!

more pink

Well, I'm not as thrilled with this outfit. I truly have probably tried on close to 100 pairs of pants this month to try to find some that fit my waist, hips, and thighs all at the same time, and this is the pair of khakis that won. However, the looser cut of the pants and the light jacket and the ruffled shirt under add too much bulk to my frame, I think. I think I'll try to wear these slacks with a more fitted top, and this jacket with more fitted pants in the future.

fabulous new skirt

I just love this skirt! Its such a fun mix of contradictions - its a traditional tweed, but its bias-cut and has a slight flare. Plus, it has a bit of pink in it and I've been in a pink-mood this week. Its not the most flattering length, but I think it would look better with higher heels. I wore these because I was going out for a date-night with my husband right after a super intense workout at the gym and my calf muscles couldn't handle my super high heels!
